Please join Council for Design Excellence President Craig Krumwiede for a review of the newest and most exciting research and faculty projects taking place in the College of Design. Our speakers will be:

Prasad Boradkar, Associate Professor of Industrial Design and Codirector of InnovationSpace. Prasad will provide a brief overview of InnovationSpace and discuss some of the driving principles of the program. He will guide the audience through the process of innovation adopted by the student teams.

Jose Bernardi, Associate Professor of Interior Design. Jose is the curator of the successful "Process and Ideas" series of lectures and exhibitions that has featured the work of Richard + Bauer, DeBartolo Architects, Wendell Burnette Architects, and Architekton/John Kane and will finish with the work of Jones Studio and Will Bruder + Partners in 2009. He will talk about how this series grew into an exchange of ideas and symposium in Barcelona, which took place in October 2008.

Ken McCown, Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture. Ken has been working on the idea of post-oil urbanism or how to envision our cities after "Peak Oil." Forward thinking and inspiring, Ken is at the forefront of research ideas about how people in our cities will move, build, and play in the future.

Philip White, Assistant Professor  of Industrial Design. Philip is an ecological design strategist who develops ecologically intelligent products and systems. He specializes in helping students and practitioners apply ecodesign strategies and advanced environmental impact assessment methods.

In addtion, Interim Dean Mark Searle will attend to provide an update on the process of the Dean's search.
