HEALTHCARE DESIGN: Advisory Boardp

Advisory Board Membership

The Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts confers Healthcare Design board membership on those individuals who share a passion for transforming healthcare design, operations, and interrelated industries.

In its advisory capacity, the board will help guide a holistic, interdisciplinary educational experience in healthcare design, planning and related services. Utilizing their diverse expertise, board members will direct a strategic agenda to promote radical improvements to healthcare industry design standards. Ultimately, this agenda will help identify critical issues facing healthcare systems in Arizona and potentially help transform hospitals design/operations on national and international levels.

Membership Expectations

Critical to the success of the program, membership on the board reflects multiple entities within the healthcare industry. This includes healthcare systems representatives; hospitals administrators and staff; architectural, interior, and industrial designers and consultants; physicians, nurses, and clinical staff; vendors and equipment manufacturers; medical researchers; community leaders; and public users.

The board convenes twice annually. These meetings serve as a forum for the introduction and discussion of issues and the identification of program priorities. Based on personal expertise and individual roles, members also meet with the program director and deans on an occasional basis to address specific topics or concerns.
