The College of Design Planning and Design Academy will provide an environment for design professionals, real estate leaders, government officials, policy makers, and scholars to address emerging issues in the field of planning and design. The Planning and Design Academy will offer lectures and workshops in collaboration with various partners to address emerging issues affecting their fields.
Academy topics will reflect broad issues ranging from growth strategies to urban planning to sustainability to environment land-use planning as well as regional and current topical issues such as public/private land use, TIFs, and regional transportation planning. Workshops topics will be generated based on availability of faculty speakers and identification of relevant and timely issues. These workshops offer an opportunity to share best practices and management strategies with the academic and professional communities and to promote the knowledge base of the College of Design.
