This web site presents research work accomplished in the College of
Architecture and Environmental Design at Arizona State University
related to thermal comfort as affected by radiant surfaces and thermal
mass. First, is an overview of the basic principles pertaining to
human comfort, then, a presentation of the performance results of
case studies that use radiant panels as the primary strategy in achieving
thermal comfort.
This site was developed with the help of a grant from the Evelyn and
Harold Hay Fund (EHHS/SBSE) at Cal Poly State University, San Luis
Obispo. The case study of the Carefree radiant house was supported
by research funds from ASHRAE. |
