ENROLLMENT + REGISTRATION

Success in registering for classes is all about timing! If necessary, contact an academic advisor to discuss suggested classes for the upcoming semester and register as soon as you can. And don’t forget to pay your tuition and fees prior to the appropriate deadlines.

The websites listed below are your best resources for enrollment and registration information.

More information on ASU enrollment and registration can be found at www.asu.edu/ students.

Enrollment in classes completes the registration process. By registering for classes you agree to pay all applicable tuition and registration fees. If you decide not to attend classes, you must officially withdraw from the University. Class registration will not be cancelled due to nonpayment.

Note: If tuition is not paid by the fee payment deadline or financial aid awarded by the fee payment deadline, you will automatically be enrolled in the Tuition Installment Plan and charged a nonrefundable $75.00 enrollment fee. For more information on tuition and fee payment, refer to ASU Interactive.

Tips for Preregistration

The college strongly encourages all students to participate in preregistration.  Although preregistration does not guarantee your requested schedule, it will provide you the best chance to secure your preferred classes next semester.  The college cannot guarantee that spaces in some of our courses will be available after preregistration.

Please note that all advisors are now located in the College of Design south building, room 115.

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

  • Review your curriculum checksheet. If you don’t have a copy of your checksheet they can be found at the following website: http://www.asu.edu/provost/articulation/chksheets/06-07/06CKARCH.htm.  If you need a copy of the BA in Design Studies checksheet, please e-mail design.advising@asu.edu to request a copy and indicate the specific area of study you need.

  • Based on your particular level in the major, (i.e. 2nd year Architecture, Industrial Design, etc.), determine which courses are required for the spring semester according to your checksheet.

  • If your checksheet indicates a general studies course is required, please refer to the pre-registration instructions for guidance in finding appropriate general studies courses.

  • If your checksheet indicates an elective, keep in mind that any course with academic content and in which a letter grade is earned (i.e. A, B, C) may satisfy the elective credit. You should choose electives that interest you and are appropriate to your academic level. The general studies list in the schedule of classes is a good place to start with a variety of choices.

If, after you have completed the above steps, you still have advising questions regarding Spring 2007 pre-registration, you are welcome to come to the advising office to meet with an advisor. From October 16-October 31 advisors will see students on a walk-in basis only. Appointments will not be available during this time. You must bring your checksheet and tentative spring 2007 schedule--this means you need to be pro-active and make an attempt to create your spring schedule.

Office hours are 8:30-noon and 1:00-4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Please plan to arrive at least a half hour before closing times.
