The mission of the College of Design Academic Advising Center is to assist students in the development and implementation of meaningful educational plans that are compatible with their long-term goals and ability to succeed in a chosen area of study.
Academic advising is an educational process that, by intention and design, facilitates students’ understanding of the meaning and purpose of higher education and fosters their intellectual and personal development toward academic success and lifelong learning.
Academic advisors help new, incoming students successfully transition to the university and continuing students make progress towards their educational goals and graduation. Academic advising is a collaborative relationship among faculty, academic advisors, students, and the university community, helping students navigate their way toward graduation. Working with advisors, students identify academic and career goals, create and implement plans, and make connections to resources that will make our students’ time at ASU successful and fulfilling.
